Step 5: fill your site with content

admin area content page If you've used an on-line form before, you'll know how to use the page editing tools. Just type your text into the white boxes, click 'Submit' and the live site will be amended.

Now comes the bit that most people seem to enjoy most: preparing the individual pages. First, decide what sort of information is to show on the page, then pick the most appropriate layout template (illustrated on the same page). Next you should upload any pictures to your library (if necessary you can crop and resize them from within Site System™), after which they will be available for selection from a drop-down list. You can use up to six pictures per page, positioned wherever you like.

Next, enter the text that is to appear in each part of the layout template and then decide if you want to have some sections displayed in tinted 'insert' boxes. Finally, see what it looks like from within the admin area before selecting the page as 'live'. Also on this page, you can enter text for meta and alt tags, subtitles and picture captions. To save you having to learn any XHTML, the system converts line breaks to XHTML code, and accepts a range of unique short-hand characters for text links, pre-designed bullet-points, 'more' buttons and 'next' buttons like this one >
